Self-expression looks a bit different for those whose sensitivity and depth of feeling allow them to experience more than what’s possible to say with words.

For you, it might look like surrounding yourself with art that opens your heart and touches your soul.

For me, self-expression means allowing my hands to translate emotions into marks on a surface...

building up the layers until the painting becomes a portal where you and I connect on a soulful and intimate level.

Hello there, I’m Louise.

I’m on a mission to help you explore your rich inner world through fearless art.

educator for artists

but there was a time, I lost touch with my inner artist.

Growing up in Yorkshire, my time was split between exploring the great outdoors and making art. Early on, I knew I wanted to continue pursuing my passion which led me to study art in college.

In my 20s, I moved from England to North America and I left art behind.

At the time, I thought I’d simply “grown up”. But now I understand that leaving my home somehow disconnected me from myself. As I struggled to adapt and fit into new cultures—first Canada and then the US—

I lost touch with the artist I had always been.

Luckily, the desire to make art rushed back immediately when I came back home.

This time, I vowed not to lose myself or my art ever again and I embarked on a program of study and consistent daily painting practice. Over the years, my work has shifted from representational landscapes to expressive abstracts, but the goal has remained the same:

to make art from the deepest, most authentic parts of myself, to express all that I feel, and to connect with art lovers who seek paintings filled with truth and authenticity and emotion.

My expressive abstract paintings inject life and excitement in any space, drawing in my fellow highly sensitive deep thinkers.

Honest, authentic art heals, lights the path for others, and connects at deeper levels.

it should make you feel more alive and fling open doors to new experiences.

Pushing beyond trends, my work is about the power of authentic expression and the desire to genuinely connect you and me with our common humanity.

we can all make compelling art

Especially those of us who feel and think deeply and may have been told things like “you’re too sensitive” and “you’re too emotional.” The kind of art we need right now requires artists to be vulnerable (sometimes painfully so), unearth our deepest truths and pour them on a canvas (or paper, or music, etc).

In doing so we reach out a hand in the darkness and say “you are not alone. I see what you see. I feel what you feel.”

What my artist students have to say

I BELIEVE EVERYONE CAN MAKE EXCITING ART—BUT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW HOW.

(that’s where I come in)

I help struggling artists approach the creative process with a sense of exploration. By doing this, they can let go of fear and feel free in their art. I teach them to find their own voice, make art they can feel proud of, and find the courage of sharing with the world.
