I believe art should reflect back to us. It should reach out and say “You are not alone.”

The Layered Landscape
The layered landscape series was made for a sole exhibition in North Yorkshire. Paintings were built from many layers of paint and collage, which were sanded back to create fascinating textures. This process echoed the processes that formed the North Yorkshire landscape

Patternicity
The Patternicity series was made during the first Covid lockdown in 2020. This was a time when patterns were disrupted for everyone and life felt both heavily structured and without any structure. In these small 12” x 12” paintings, I explored this contrast between structure and chaos using a mixed media approach of collage, paint and a variety of drawing materials
