This is one of a series of smaller works on paper, made during a period of experimentation earlier in the year. I wanted to test out new colours and marks and also to explore the idea of negative space. i made many studies during this time, but only chose my very favourites to include in this exhibition.
I love the energy, optimism and joy that seems to be embodied in this painting.
